Privacy policy
PriceTrace is a Shopify app made by Nils D. It checks the prices in your Shopify store across your markets. This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and what happens to it. Questions: pricetrace@dunso.se.
What the app reads from your store
When you install PriceTrace, you give it read-only access to two kinds of store data:
- Products: product and variant names and IDs, prices, compare-at prices, and Shopify's record of how each price was calculated in each market.
- Markets: your markets' names, countries and status.
PriceTrace cannot see your customers, orders or payment details, and it never changes anything in your store.
What the app stores
- Your store's connection: your shop's domain, the access token Shopify issues to the app, and the permissions you granted. This lets the app read your prices, including for nightly scans.
- Scan results: the issues found, the variants they affect (names, IDs and prices), a per-market summary, and a snapshot of your prices used to show what changed since the previous scan.
Your subscription is handled by Shopify; PriceTrace doesn't store payment information. If you email support, your message and email address are kept so we can help you.
Personal data
PriceTrace doesn't request or store personal data about your customers. Product data is your store's business data. The app handles it on your behalf, only to provide the service to you.
How the data is used
Only to run the app for you: scanning and explaining your prices and showing the results in your Shopify admin. The data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train AI models. The app doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Where the data is kept
The app and its database run on Render in the United States (Oregon). Data travels between Shopify, Render and your browser over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Render keeps short-lived server logs that include your shop's domain.
How long it is kept
As long as PriceTrace is installed. When you uninstall the app, your store's connection and all scan results are deleted straight away. Shopify also asks the app to delete a store's data 48 hours after uninstall, and the app deletes it again then.
Your rights
You can ask what data PriceTrace holds about your store, or ask for it to be deleted, at any time by emailing pricetrace@dunso.se. Uninstalling the app deletes it as well. Requests passed on by Shopify on behalf of your customers are answered within 30 days; since the app stores no customer data, there is normally nothing to return or delete.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
